KARACHI: Pakistan national cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said the victory at Champions Trophy 2017 was the result of team spirit.
Taking to media flanked by his fans at his residence, he said his team worked far harder after the defeat in the first faceoff with India in the pool match.
He said, “We are thankful to Allah Almighty and the nation. I congratulate the nation as their prayers bore fruit.”
“My boys displayed good performance in every department of the game; that is why the team emerged as victorious,” Sarfaraz remarked lavishing praises on the players.
After the first defeat at the hands of India, the boys were under huge pressure; however, team management worked hard and the team made a comeback, the skipper said adding the seniors also performed excellently.
He pledged that the team will perform even better in the future.
“After India trounced us, we improved our fielding, batting and bowling. The plus point is that masses support the team,” Sarfaraz said adding, “We made every effort to keep from the social media.” –SAMAA
