Anil Kumble has reportedly resigned as the Head Coach of India, a couple of days after Pakistan crushed India by 180 runs in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

According to details, Kumble resigned following his decision not to accompany team India on its tour in the West Indies. Kumble cited his commitment to the ICC as a reason for not accompanying the team on the tour which begins from June 23.

Indian media had earlier speculated that a meeting between Virat Kohli and the Cricket Advisory Committee had taken place during which the captain had made it known to the committee that he had reached a dead end with regard to his relationship with Kumble.

There was hardly any interaction between Kohli and Kumble during the Champions Trophy tournament. Kumble kept to himself mostly or made the bowlers practice a few deliveries during practice sessions throughout the tournament.

During Kumble’s stint as coach, India has won 12 of their 17 Test matches while it has lost only one.
