DUBAI: Veteran Mohammad Sami defends five runs in the final over to give his side Islamabad United a sensational win over Quetta Gladiators. Islamabad United advances to Play off. Mohammad Sami declares Man of the Match. 

Earlier on, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to field first. Hussain Talat's struck a sparkling half-ton to help Islamabad United set 166-run target for Quetta Gladiators in the 17th game of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai International Stadium in UAE on Friday.

After early dismissal of opener Dwayne Smith, Hussain took a charge and scored 56 off 39 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 6 fours.

Shane Watson also chipped in with 16-ball 22 to end the innings at 165-6.

Chasing the target, Quetta lost their first wicket when Asad Shafiq was out after scoring just 8 runs. However, Ahmed Shehzad and Kevin Pietersen continued their good form. They did 133 runs partnership. Ahmed got out on the score of 59 while Pietersen scored 69.

Captain Sarfraz failed to capitalised his form and got out after scoring just three runs. Veteran pacer Mohammad Sami did a fantastic job and saved the match for his team. He defended six runs in the last over.

Irfan, Rumman,Shadab and Sami chipped one wicket each. Islamabad United moves in the Play off stage while Quetta already qualifies for the play offs.


 















In the previous match Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by 6 wickets, where as Islamabad United lost by 1 wicket in 14th T20 against Lahore Qalandars in Dubai.

Quetta Gladiators are leading the point table on 1st position with "7" points having highest NET RR of "0.248". On the other side Lahore Qalandars are at 2nd and Islamabad United at 3rd respectively.
