SHARJAH:Despite Shahid Afridi’s blistering fifty, Karachi Kings held their nerve in the final over to pull off a sensational 9-run win over Peshawar Zalmi in a match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE.

Chasing a target of 175 run, Peshawar Zalmi managed 165 runs in 19.5 overs just nine runs short of what could have been a spectacular chase.

Afridi was supported by Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy who chipped in with 34 runs off 26 balls. But his wicket at crucial stage dented Zalmi’s chance for the victory.


For Karachi, Sohail Khan and Usama Mir were the star performers taking five wickets between them to register their second victory of the tournament.

Earlier, Karachi Kings scored 174 runs on the loss of 4 wickets courtesy Shoaib Malik who made 51 runs.

Currently Quetta Gladiators is leading the point table at No.1 position by “7” points with the positive NET RR of “0.248” followed by Islamabad United.

Peshawar Zalmi is at no 3 on the point table.

Karachi Kings have gone past Lahore Qalandars due to better run rate.
