PSL 2017: Karachi beat Islamabad to send Lahore packing

DUBAI:Karachi Kings Sunday beat Islamabad United by 6 wickets to qualify for next round of the Pakistan Super League’s second edition starting Tuesday.

Karachi’s win means Lahore Qalandars are out of the tournament.

Chasing 124 to win, Karachi Kings got home in the final over courtesy Chris Gayle’s quick fire 44 runs off 17 balls.

Earlier, Islamabad United Sunday set a 124-run target for Karachi Kings in their rain curtailed 15-over game of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai Cricket Stadium in UAE.

 

 

Yesterday, Kieron Pollard hit two successive sixes off the last two balls as Karachi Kings pulled off a stunning victory against Lahore Qalandars at Dubai International Stadium.

In the second match played yesterday, Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by two wickets.

The first qualifying final (play-off) of the tournament will be played on Tuesday at Sharjah while the second qualifying final will be played on Wednesday at the same venue.

Similarly, the third qualifying final will be played on Friday at Dubai, while the final of the tournament will likely be played on March 5 in Lahore.
