KARACHI: As Pakistan ended 12-year win drought in Australia on Sunday, Shahid Afridi taunted Ian Chappell, who made controversial remarks after Pakistan lost the Test series to Australia 3-0.
In a Twitter message, Shahid Afridi felicitated Pakistan over their classy win, hailing Muhammad Hafeez’s captaincy and his 72 useful runs.
He also appreciated the bowling of Junaid Khan, who took two wickets and Shoaib Malik for his unbeaten 42 runs.
While congratulating the Pakistani players, Shahid Afridi taunted Chappell asking him if he watched the performance of the visiting team.
“ShabashPakistan, great captaincy and inns Hafeez, Well done JK, Malik, Did you watch Ian Chappell?,” he wrote.

Chappell was extremely critical of Pakistan and their skipper Misbahul Haq after Pakistan lost a three-match series 0-3 against Steve Smith-led Australia.
“A lot of their struggles were because they had no leadership. There was no inspiration from Misbah, so things have got to change in Pakistan.”
“If I’m asked onto any committee to discuss future scheduling, my first recommendation would be no more Pakistan tours of Australia,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

Any ranking system that ranks Pakistan #1 (as they were last year) is a joke. Even Zimbabwe would’ve shown more grit at MCG & SCG #AUSvPAK

On Friday, Pakistan Test skipper Misbah hit back at Chappell calling the latter’s remarks as “irresponsible and useless”.
“I think he should first give some advice to his captain Steve Smith on how to avoid whitewashes in Asia and then worry about us. Every team faces problems outside their country,” he said.
