All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will lead Pakistan in the next one-dayer against Australia in Melbourne on Sunday, cricket board announced today.
The PCB’s decision came after captain Azhar Ali suffered a hamstring injury in the first ODI. He has been advised rest and it is expected he will join the team for the fourth and fifth one-dayers to be played in Sydney and Adelaide.
Ali’s deputy Sarfaraz Ahmed has already returned to Pakistan to be with his ailing mother.
Australia is leading the 5-match series 1-0 after thrashing Pakistan by 92 runs in the first tie.
