Netherlands Olympian of Baloch origin has a special message for the people of Pakistan.

From a family that hails from Lyari, Madiea Ghafoor is the first female Baloch Olympic participant to be running in the 400m relay race at Rio De Janeiro today.

Raised in Amsterdam, she is the grand-daughter of Karachi based politician late Lal Baksh Rind. Her parents belong to Lyari Town, Sindh.  She has won laurels representing Netherlands including a bronze medal at the European Athletics Junior Championship held in Estonia, 2011.
