NAGPUR: The West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl in their World Twenty20 group stage match against Afghanistan in the Indian city of Nagpur on Sunday.

Skipper Darren Sammy said he was resting explosive opener Chris Gayle, instead bringing in Evin Lewis, but warned “we are not going to take our foot off the gas”.

The Windies have already qualified for the semi-finals with three straight wins in the tournament — including a nervy last victory against South Africa on Friday.
