ISLAMABAD: Left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz has urged the youth not to get any inspiration from what happened between him and opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 match a couple of days ago.
“Whatever happened on that day during the match was my reaction to something. But I don’t want to get into details. I would like to urge people not to get any inspiration from that incident,” he said in a TV channel interview.
During the Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi match on Sunday, Ahmed Shehzad and Wahab Riaz were involved in a physical fight that was interrupted by the team-mates and umpires.
Both players were fined by match referee Roshan Mahanama for breaching International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct. While Shehzad was fined 30 per cent of his match fee, Riaz was penalised 40 per cent of his game earnings. –APP
