Shoaib quits Kings captaincy for Bopara

DUBAI: Leave it under wraps if Shoaib Malik relinquished the captaincy of Karachi Kings or he was coerced to do so. The long and short of it is that he is no more leading the Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Also, we set aside the question if he lost the confidence of the team management. However, he himself chipped in, clarifying, “I am on board on making Bopara the new skipper.”

With a stance that Rave Bopara’s statement was given an unwarranted twist, Malik remarked, “I was failing to put in performance owing to captaincy.”

Cricket buffs wish him good luck to him and Karachi Kings that will take on Islamabad United today (Saturday) under a new captain in the second playoff. –SAMAA
