ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday launched the Cool & Cool presents Haier Mobile T-20 Cup 2015 with great fanfare at a local hotel by unveiling the event logo and introducing the bevy of tournament and team sponsors.
The tournament logo was unveiled by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haier Pakistan Javed Afridi and Rao Omar Hashim Khan on behalf of Cool & Cool. Director Domestic Cricket PCB Intikhab Alam and President Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) Shakeel Sheikh were also present on the occasion.
The tournament will commence on September 8 and its semifinals will be played on Sept 14, while the final will take place on September 15. Twelve teams divided into two groups will contest in the tournament with each team playing five matches.
Speaking on the Occasion Intikhab Alam, chairman tournament organizing committee and director domestic cricket PCB appreciated all sponsors for supporting the teams of each region and assured competitive game of cricket in the event.
“Pakistan’s T20 captain Shahid Afridi and other top players are taking part in the tournament and I am sure cricket lovers will be having great contests,” he said.
He said PCB had made all necessary arrangents to make the event a real success adding that he was sure huge crowds would turn out to witness the event. He said along with senior players several budding players would also be seen in action. “We are trying to provide maximum opportunities to our young guns also,” Intikhab said.
He said that PCB would closely monitor the performance of players and the event would serve as a window of opportunity for young players to make their way to the national team in the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
Javed Afrid, CEO Haier Pakistancongratulated the teams which qualified from Q8 to National T20 and assured that Haier Pakistan would continue its support for the game development in the country. He said that that the national T20 tournament had always produced good pool of young cricketers for Pakistan national team. Haier Mobile has also sponsored team “Haier Mobile Karachi Whites” & “Haier Peshawar.”
Atif Riaz Sikka, Director and Sales and Marketing, Brighto paints unveiled the logos of its sponsored teams “Brighto Paints Lahore Whites”, “Brighto Paints Bahawalpur”. Brighto Paints is also the Co-Sponsor of the tournament.
Atta, Regional Manager J. Junaid Jamshed assured PCB continued support towards game of cricket. He also assured J. Junaid Jamshed’s commitment towards Cricket Pakistan as a sponsor. He unveiled the team logos of “J. Junaid Jamshed Karachi Blues”, “J. Junaid Jamshed Sialkot”, J. Junaid Jamshed is also Co-Sponsor of the tournament.
Mughal Steel is also a team sponsor of the event and has sponsored “Mughal Steel Abbottabad”, the logo of the team was unveiled by Shakeel Sheikh, PCB.
Intikhab Alam on behalf of Golden Pearl Cosmetics unveiled the logo of its teams “Golden Pearl Azad Rawalpindi”.
Waqas Mughal, Sales Manager, Inverex Group unveiled the Team Logo of its 3 teams in the tournament “Inverex XP Inverter Faisalabad”, “Inverex Stabilizers Hyderabad” & “Inverex Solar Panels Multan”.
Shakeel Sheikh, president Islamabad Cricket Association PCB on behalf of Super Asia Group unveiled the Logo of their Team “Super Asia Islamabad” and hoped for the competitive cricket in the coming days of the event. – APP
