India beat Pakistan to clinch men's world Kabaddi title

Staff ReportLUDHIANA: India emerged as world champion of Kabaddi, beating arch-rival Pakistan with a margin of nine points at the Guru Nanak Stadium on Saturday, SAMAA reported.India, the defending champion of Kabaddi world cup, retained their title for fourth consecutive term defeating Pakistan 48-39.Earlier in the first semi-final of the Men's World Kabaddi Cup‚ Pakistan beat the United States by 51 to 33 points in the Indian city of Bathinda.Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif and Indian Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal watched the final match and addressed the prize distribution ceremony.On Thursday, Indian women’s Kabaddi team won the women’s final for the third time, defeating new comers New Zealand by 49-21 points. – SAMAA
