Staff ReportCOLOMBO: JP Duminy made 48 as South Africa set Pakistan 134 to win in their Super Eight match of the Twenty20 World Cup at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. Electing to bat first, South Africa struggled to score runs against Pakistan’s spin bowling attack. Young Raza Hasan, who was given the new ball, gave away only 12 runs in his three overs. Yasir Arafat removed in-form Hashim Amla (6) in his first over on a slow ball. Jacques Kallis was the next to go after making 12 runs off 18 balls.
Farhaan Behardien made 18 before being stumped by Kamran Akmal on Hafeez bowling. Duminy was the only South African batsman to offer some resistance, scoring 48 off 38 balls. Skipper AB de Villiers also chipped in with 25 off 18 balls as South Africa finished the inning on 133/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Hafeez and Yasir Arafat grabbed two wickets each for Pakistan. Earlier, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first.South Africa made one change from the team that beat Sri Lanka, the left-arm Robin Peterson replaced Faf du Plessis.After the toss, Pak skipper Hafeez said he is not fussed to be chasing today.
