Australia out of Kabaddi World Cup for doping

NEW DELHI: Australia has been disqualified from the Kabaddi World Cup in the northern state of Punjab after three of its players skipped a dope test.The Times of India reported Sunday that Australia was left short of the mandatory eight players needed to field a team.Five Australia players had failed dope tests earlier in the competition.The total number of dope cases in the tournament has reached 27 after the National Anti Doping Agency tested about 100 participants.NADA also caught 20 Indian players for doping during a national camp ahead of the World Cup.Kabaddi, a popular team sport in south Asia, is a seven-person game that involves “raiding” the opponents' side, and involves tackling and wrestling.
