SRINAGAR: Claiming that the militant infrastructure is still existent in Pakistan, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on Saturday said that his forces were fully prepared to tackle all eventualities.
“Terrorist infrastructure is intact in Pakistan. As soon as the snow level recedes or snow melts there is a possibility that the terrorists may infiltrate into Indian territory. Indian security forces are fully prepared to keep a check on the possible infiltration,” Kapoor said, while addressing journalists at Badami Bagh Army cantonment upon his arrival from New Delhi.
“The military will act or react on the directions of the national leadership. We are fully prepared to face any challenge,” he added.
Kapoor reached Srinagar to review the post-elections ground-level situation here.
The Army Chief further said that the armed forces are maintaining a high-level of operational readiness to combat tensions, which flared up following the November 26 terror strikes in Mumbai.
