It’s always great to have young entrepreneurs rising up with new ideas of starting a new business and bring change in the mainstream market, just like these two young men Fahd and Shaan, who took the inspiration from Canada and executed their business idea of introducing the first board game café.
Pi- social is a concept based café located in Clifton block 5, opposite Szabist. Fahd and Shaan aim to provide services for everyone to eat and built up social networking through board games. An amazing initiative to divert people from non-verbal digital networking in to direct interactive entertainment.
The story behind this interesting and unique name ‘Pi-social’ is that the word social came through the association of board game lounge, something that came in the lines of being social, where random people came along to play games together for as long as they wanted to play. The word Pi came from the Pi in the math, something to do with equations and techniques of playing games. “It’s associated with Geeks and tech”, as defined by Fahd. it truly shows how their careers backgrounds have a corporate impact on the name.
Shaan was working in a consultancy firm, while Fahd was a financial broker in South Africa. Both the friends decided to give up their profession careers and work out of their comfort zone to build this café. Fortunately, their small efforts turned out a great success and they started receiving exceptionally positive responses in the first week. Pi-social has been trending on social media where people are eagerly looking forward to visit this place for playing, learning and teaching new games in a pleasant, organic and non-smoking environment.
The best part about this place is that it isn’t defined for a certain age group, Pi-social welcomes people of all age groups to come and chill with their family, friends, and colleagues.
Other than the board lounge, Pi-social promotes their Veranda (the outer siting space) as a separate entity for private events like corporate events and social gatherings. They also look forward in bringing stand-up-comedians, different Indie bands who’ve performed in the Red Bull Academy and Salt Arts and neighbor-hood events to their calendar.
