Netizens pay tribute to #HabibFidaAli

Pakistan’s renowned architect Habib Fida Ali died from brain hemorrhage on Saturday morning. He was 82.

The veteran architect was under treatment at a private hospital in Karachi.

Born in 1936, Habib Fida Ali was among Pakistan’s most distinguished architects. He was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. He was honored with the lifetime achievement award by the Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP)

Following his qualification an associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects, he returned to Pakistan in 1964 and worked on many landmark architectural projects and buildings including the conservation and renovation of Mohatta Palace, Sui Northern and Southern Gas buildings, National Bank of Pakistan, The Forum and residences of eminent businessmen, intellects, entrepreneurs and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the most celebrated and deliberated project of Fida Ali.

HabibFida Ali also served as the Master Jury for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and received many awards for his work.

One of the collaborative projects of HabibFida Ali includes Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai. He holds membership to Association of Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) and Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP). The architect also served as the president of the Institute of Architects of Pakistan’s Karachi chapter and as council member of the Union of International Architects (Region IV).

Tributes poured in on social media after his demise.
