Indian fan ‘racially abuses’ Imran Tahir

JOHANNESBURG: Pakistani-born South African cricketer Imran Tahir was allegedly racially abused by an Indian cricket fan in the fourth one-day against India at Johannesburg, Samaa reported.

According to Cricket South Africa (CSA), the Indian fan racially abused 38-year-old leg-spinner as the 4th ODI at Johannesburg was going on.

CSA stated that the incident is underway investigation.

A video, which went viral on social media, shows the South African cricketer - standing amongst spectators - venting out his anger.

It is pertinent to mention that people, found guilty in racial discrimination cases, may get evicted from the stadiums or even face legal proceeding according to the laws set by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The Pakistani-born cricketer has represented South Africa in 2o Tests, 84 one-day internations and 20 Twenty20 Internationals. - SAMAA
