BURANWALA: Residents of Buranwala had to suffer due to stringent security measures taken by law enforcement personnel ahead of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit, on Thursday.
Strict security measures were in place a couple of hours well before the chief minister was to arrive at Buranwala Tehsil. All important routes of the city were blocked by traffic police on orders of the administration.
Heavy trucks were used to block the main routes of the city which caused immense difficulties for citizens.
"There is no need to block the various routes of the city so early," said one person.
"I'm under extreme stress because I cannot pick up my children as they (police) have blocked all the main routes. If you try to go on one of the routes, they beat you up," said another resident.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to arrive at Buranwala Tehsil later during the day where he will address a PML-N rally.
