KARACHI: A baker was arrested and booked in a case by the Napier police over charges of sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy, said officials on Saturday.
According to Napier SHO Azam Khan, a widow complained that her son was allegedly subjected to the assault when he had gone to buy something from a bakery in Lea Market.
The police have arrested the suspect who is said to be an employee of a bakery. A case has been registered under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Pakistan Penal Code. Meanwhile, the suspect was presented before a judicial magistrate who remanded him in police custody for two days for interrogation, the SHO said.
Reports of more cases of sexual assault have started surfacing after the horrific rape and murder of a seven-year-old child in Kasur.
