ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will resume hearing of the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on a petition by a disgruntled member of the party.
The five-member ECP bench is being headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) retired Justice Sardar Raza Mohammad Khan.
In an earlier hearing (December 12), the CEC had summoned for the second time PTI finance secretary Azhar Tariq Khan.
The ECP summoned him as the PTI failed to submit its reply to Babar’s objections raised against their documents submitted to the election commission and Supreme Court.
It should be mentioned here that Babar filed the petition in 2014 seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification for allegedly getting funding from illegal sources and discrepancies in the party’s accounts. –Samaa
