CJ Nisar takes suo motu notice of Asma murder in Mardan

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Friday took suo motu notice of sexual assault on Mardan’s little girl, Asma as at least 15 days passed after the little girl was brutally killed.

CJ Nisar summoned the inquiry report from Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Salahuddin Mehsud within next 24 hours.

The four-year girl was abducted on January 13 and her body was recovered from field nearby her house.

According to police, the efforts are in progress to arrest the culprits involved in the sexual assaults on Asma and samples have been taken from 200 people for DNA tests.

Meantime, the forensic report of Asma is awaited.

Police said the relatives of Asma are being interrogated. DPO Mardan Mian Saeed said the child died of strangulation; however, there is no indication of rape in the postmortem report.

Sexual assault will be confirmed after the forensic report is received, he said. –Samaa
