Cold wave grips country after rain, snowfall

KARACHI/QUETTA: The country is under the grip of cold after snowfall in Balochistan and northern areas, with minimum temperature recorded minus 12 degree centigrade in Kalat on Tuesday.

The recent snowfall in Quetta and other areas of Balochistan has sent chilling waves to Karachi where temperature dropped to 14 degree centigrade.

Next 24 hrs:

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain-thunderstorm (light snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Mirpurkhas division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Shallow foggy conditions are likely to prevail over few plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.

Next 48 hrs:

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain-thunderstorm (light snowfall over the hills) is expected at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Shallow foggy conditions are likely to prevail over few plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
