Thick smog prevails over Punjab plains, some KPK areas

LAHORE: Thick smog continued to blanket the plain areas of Punjab and some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday morning.

According to Control Room of Motorway Police, Motorway M-1 from Peshawar to Swabi, M-2 from Kot-Momin to Lahore, M-3 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and M-4 from Gojra to Faisalabad are closed for all kind of traffic due to dense smog and foggy conditions.

The road users are advised to access helpline 130 and Control Room number 051-9250500 to avoid inconvenience.

Meanwhile, mainly dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

Dense foggy and smoggy conditions are expected in plain areas of Punjab and foggy over D.I. Khan, Peshawar and Sukkur division during night and morning hours.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Saturday morning:

Islamabad ten degree centigrade, Lahore fourteen, Karachi twenty, Peshawar thirteen, Quetta five, Gilgit three, Murree eight and Muzaffarabad eleven degree centigrade. –Samaa/app
