Sindh Assembly resolution condemns PTI’s demand of early polls

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution condemning Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership’s demand for early elections and dissolving the democratically elected assemblies.

The resolution reads: “This state of mind tantamounts to disregard the right of citizens of the country who elect their representatives for five years in accordance with the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”

It said the government is effectively undertaking development works, controlling law and order situation and engaged in important foreign investment projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

This demand is surprising indicating sabotage of system and insult to the electorate which is totally rejected, the resolution said.

The resolution tabled by Senior Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was supported by Pakistan Peoples Party members of the Assembly. PTI opposed whereas Muttahida Qauami Movement members remained neutral.

Earlier , Information and Local Bodies Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro in their speeches criticized PTI Chairman Imran Khan and the party politics. – SAMAA/AGENCIES
