KARACHI: MQM-Pakistan chief Dr Farooq Sattar reacted to reports that his party and PSP were about to merge together to contest elections from one platform.
After arriving at his party's headquarters in Bahadurabad, Farooq Sattar was mobbed by reporters and journalists.In response to a question whether or not something was about to happen, this is what he said:-
"MQM is the name of a movement hence things should keep on happening," he said. "We will do whatever it takes to serve the people in the best possible manner," he added.
As reporters started bombarding him with questions, the MQM-Pakistan chief left the scene without giving any specific answer, stating that he would answer all questions related to the possible merger in the press conference that will be held after the party's meeting.
Earlier, Mustafa Kamal was questioned by reporters and journalists after he arrived at Pakistan House to attend a party meeting.
On being asked whether reports were true that MQM and PSP were joining together, the former Mayor of Karachi smiled and said that he could not tell anything.
"Just have a little patience and wait some more," he said. "We will tell you people everything."

On being asked why he was smiling, Mustafa Kamal said that he always smiled.
"You're looking at my face for the very first time which is why you've noticed me smiling," he said. "We struggle for the people hence I am always smiling," he added.
On being asked whether or not PSP and MQM would contest elections from the same platform, Kamal again remained evasive and urged reporters to wait for a few more hours for the final announcement.
PSP representative Raza Haroon said that he had no idea what was about to happen between MQM-Pakistan and PSP.
"We've just been called to the party headquarters for an important meeting," he said. "I've been told Anees Qaimkhani wants to give a briefing to the party," he added.
