KARACHI: MQM chief Dr Farooq Sattar on Friday talked about the pressure that was exerted on him to form a coalition with Syed Mustafa Kamal's PSP.

In a detailed interview on SAMAA TV's Awaz program, Sattar said that intellectuals, traders and mutual friends had urged him to form a political alliance with PSP.

"I had also prepared my workers mentally that such a coalition could be formed," he said. "And why not? We live in one city and are not each other's enemies. If something can be brought about for the good of the people then we should do it," he added.

Farooq Sattar did say that though everyone was in favour of an alliance, he had not asked people to be ready for a merger with PSP.
