ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Friday slammed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and PML-N workers for the ruckus that was created at accountability court earlier during the day.

In a series of tweets, the PTI chief lambasted PML-N workers and held them responsible for purposefully delaying proceedings of the case so that charges could not be framed against the former prime minister and his children.

He held senior PML-N leader and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal responsible for staging a drama to ensure that NAB judge remained unprotected.

The clash erupted after lawyers and PML-N workers demanded they be allowed to attend hearing of the cases against their leaders. Security personnel resisted and clashes erupted inside the courtroom.

As a result, the hearing was postponed till October 19 without indicting Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law.

The accountability court is trying Nawaz Sharif, Maryam, Capt (retd) Safdar, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz as part of the corruption references filed against them by the country’s top graft buster on the Supreme Court’s instructions.
