Pakistan progressing due to Nawaz Sharif’s policies: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said that Pakistan is progressing due to the policies of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Iqbal – in a media briefing here said that that Pakistan is under threat by international conspiracies.

“Twenty hours of loadshedding used to take place every day in the past which our government ended,” he said.

“In the past four years, 10000 megawatts of electricity could not be arranged but the government managed to generate 16000 megawatts of electricity,” Iqbal added.

He went on to stte that tourism flourished during the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Commenting on the NA-120 by-elections, the interior minister stated that the people will vote for their “pride”. He added, “We will emerge victorious in the constituency”.

He went on to say that people don’t vote by watching television shows.

Iqbal also said that the country’s past should not be made into its future. “A state never develops if it is in the hands of corrupt leaders,” he added.

The PML-N leader said that ex-PM Sharif presented his three generations for accountability.

“Everyone saw what happened to an elected prime minister,” the minister said.
