ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has banned employees from bringing smartphones or cellphones with cameras to the building in an effort to stop leakage of important documents, on Monday.
According to details, a circular was issued to the employees of the Foreign Office, barring them from bringing smartphones and cellphones that contain cameras to the workplace.
This step has been taken in a bid to curb leakage of important documents after a letter sent to the government of UAE by the Foreign Office surfaced and went viral on social media.
The notification pointed out clearly that any persons found to be carrying cellphones with 3G and 4G connection at the reception would not be allowed to enter the building.
The new rules will be in effect from today and will also apply to guests. The notification states quite clearly that guests will deposit their phones at the reception area and will be able to retrieve them afterwards before leaving.
