ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Tuesday that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of the thrashing of SAMAA TV's crew which took place at the Faisalabad Agriculture University.
"The incident that occurred today at the Faisalabad Agriculture University is disappointing," she said. "Chief Minister Sharif has taken notice of the incident and strict action will be taken against all involved," she added.
Marriyum said that the government believed in the freedom of press and further stated that a transparent investigation will be held.
SAMAA’s reporters, cameraman and driver were severely beaten up by security guards at Faisalabad’s Agriculture University as the crew reached there to cover an issue of students. The guards and employees tortured the team and damaged SAMAA’s DSNG van
