KARACHI: MQM-Pakistan chief Dr Farooq Sattar held a press conference on Saturday and said that 'vultures' were getting ready to snatch the vote bank of his party.
Addressing media personnel at a press conference, Sattar said that MQM-Pakistan had always been accused of being involved in rigging elections. He denied all allegations of rigging and said that MQM's candidate from PS-114 was defeated as per an agenda through rigging.
"Rauf Siddiqui was defeated through rigging. We filed a complaint against the opponent and the decision came in favour of Irfanullah Marwat," he said.
Sattar said that his party accepted the decision nonetheless and the Supreme Court of Pakistan later gave a decision in Siddiqui's favour.
"We don't partake in rigging, the foul practice is conducted against us," he said. "MQM is seen as weak hence accusations are leveled against us," he added.
Farooq Sattar said that 'vultures' were preparing to snatch MQM-Pakistan's vote bank. He said that Pakistan Peoples Party was eyeing MQM's seats greedily.
Claiming that MQM-Pakistan would secure a heavy mandate in the upcoming elections, Dr Farooq Sattar announced that on Sunday, his party would hold a big rally in Hyderabad.
"We won't be taking out a rally on Sunday. We will be taking out a ralla," he said.
Referring to the Hyderabad massacre that took place more than three decades ago, Sattar said that a renewed investigation should be started against the incident.
"A judicial commission should be formed to probe the Hyderabad massacre," he said.
Dr Farooq Sattar praised IG Sindh AD Khawaja and suggested that the investigation be conducted by him into the killings that took place in Hyderabad.
