Principal claims demolished school was bought legally from KDA

KARACHI: The principal of a school in Korangi, which was recently demolished, claimed on Friday that the plot was bought legally from KDA.

According to details, Noreen, the principal of the school claimed that the plot on which it was built was bought from Rs 3.2 million. The school, which was located at Korangi Crossing, was demolished on Thursday.

"The plot on which the school was built was bought in 2013," she said. "It was purchased for Rs. 3.2 million".

She further said that the school offered classes from grade 1-7. Noreen said that a request had been filed for the school registration.

Meanwhile, Director Estate and Enforcement Jameel Baloch said that the school was built after land had been acquired by force. He stated that the plot belonged to KDA Employees Society.

"Notices were sent to the school administration before the school was demolished," he said. "A case will be registered against the school administration for forcefully acquiring the land," he said.
