Tehmina Janjua assumes charges as Foreign Secretary

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former representative to the United Nations Tehmina Janjua has assumed charge as Foreign Secretary.

The announcement was formally made by Foreign Office on Twitter.

Previously, Ms Janjua served as Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nation’s Geneva and as its ambassador to Italy.

Janjua joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1984 and served in Pakistan’s missions to New York City and United Nations before serving as the Director of Foreign Secretary’s Office between 2004 and 2005.

Ms Janjua has replaced Aizaz Chaudhry who has been appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to Washington. – SAMAA
