Child maid with torture marks recovered from Islamabad house

ISLAMABAD: An 11-year-old child maid was recovered with visible torture marks Friday night from a house in E-11 area of Islamabad.

The victim told media that the family who she worked for would often beat her up for “being lazy”.

She alleged that her employers beat her and cut off her hair. To save her life she ran off to the neighbour’s house who called the police.

The child maid hails from Rahim Yar Khan.

Police has arrested a family member for interrogation, sources close to the matter said.

Earlier this year 10-year-old child maid Tayyaba was recovered from a house in Islamabad. Her employers a judge and his wife were accused of torturing the child maid.

The Supreme Court took suo moto notice of the case and it will resume hearing in the Islamabad High Court. Till the court gives out a verdict, Tayyaba is residing in an orphanage in the capital city.
