PM, army chief visit blast victims in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived at Nawabshah today (Friday) and inquired after the health of those injured in yesterday's Sehwan blast.

The PM and army chief inquired after the health of those injured in the blast.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Chief Minister Murad Ali and others accompanied the Prime Minister.

Dozens of people including 20 children were perished in yesterday’s blast that also left 200 injured, triggering countrywide security crackdown.

Since Thursday, the security forces have killed around 40 terrorists in raids and search operations.

Before the arrival of high-ups, members of families affected by Thursday’s bomb blast protested in Sehwan city, torching police van.

Police responded with aerial firing after the protestors went on rampage.

Earlier, a large number of devotees gathered outside closed gate of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine, a day after a bomb blast killed more than 70 people. The devotees were protesting against failure of police to ensure security at the sufi saint’s shrine. - Samaa
