ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday directed quarters concerned to beef up the security despite closing for faithfuls in the federal capital.

In a statement issued here, he expressed his repulsion over reported closure of a shrine in Islamabad due to security reasons.

The move comes a day after a suicide bomber ripped through the crowded shrine of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif, killing at least 80 people and injuring more than 300.

In Southern Punjab and Karachi, most of the shrines were closed for visitors owing to security concerns. – SAMAA
