New rain spell to hit parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: More rain with snowfall over hills is likely to occur at different areas of the country during the weekend.

An official of met office informed that another weather system is likely to approach scattered on Friday.

Under the influence of this weather system, thunderstorm is expected at a number of places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA from Friday evening to Sunday.

Isolated heavy rain/snow over the hills is also expected in Malakand and Hazara divisions on Saturday and Sunday, he told APP.

In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, rain besides snowfall with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places from Friday to Monday.

In Punjab and federal capital, rain/thunderstorm is likely at scattered places of Islamabad, Upper Punjab in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions on Saturday and Sunday.

Snowfall is also expected over the hills of Murree and Galliyat during the period.

While in Balochistan rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is predicted at isolated places of Northern Balochistan in Quetta, Kalat and Zhob divisions on Friday and Saturday.

Met office also warned that due to intermittent rain, there is a risk of landslides/avalanches in the vulnerable areas of Khaber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period. – APP
