KCR revival: Saad forms committee of experts

LAHORE: Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair has said that restoration of railways and improvement in it was a clear evidence of performance of Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique.

He said this in a meeting with the federal minister held at the Pakistan Railways’ headquarters, here on Thursday.

On the occasion, minister, Saad Rafique said that a committee comprising experts was constituted for Karachi Circular Railways and added that all-out cooperations had been offered in this regard.

He said that Karachi Cantt railway station was being restored to its actual form.

The minister said that a sum of Rs 13.5 billion would be added to total revenue of Pakistan Railways to be received from transportation of coal from Port Qasim to Sahiwal Power Plant and added that from which, the Railways would earn Rs 5 billion as profit.

He said that a sum of Rs 40 million had been released for the construction of residences for railways staff in Karachi.

Federal Minister for Commerce, Khurram Dastgir was also present in the meeting. – SAMAA/AGENCIES
