Bomb alarm: PIA plane makes emergency landing at UK airport

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane was diverted to Stansted Airport in London owing to a bomb threat.

According to PIA’s station manager, flight PK-757 asked permission to make an emergency landing at the Heathrow Airport. The authorities, however, denied the request due to security concerns and diverted the plane to Stansted Airport.

The plane carrying 150 passengers was flying from Lahore to London.

The bomb threat was made by phone some 30 minutes before it was scheduled to land at the Heathrow Airport.

There are reports of a suspicious device on the plane.

According to reports coming in, British police surrounded the plane after it safely landed at Stansted Airport. – SAMAA
