COAS condoles death of Governor Sindh

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Wednesday expressed sorrow over death of Governor Sindh Justice (retd) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui.

In a condolence message, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the army chief prayed for the slain governor’s eternal peace at heaven.

“COAS grieved on sad demise of Gov Sindh Saeed Uz Zaman Siddique. Prays for his eternal peace at Heaven. Shares grief of bereaved family,” the DG ISPR tweeted.

Earlier, the governor had passed away at the age of 78.

According to our correspondent, following chest pain, Siddiqui was taken to South City Hospital, where he breathed his last.

The 31st governor of Sindh had taken oath on November 11, 2016 replacing Dr Ishratul Ebad. He was admitted to hospital on the same day.

He got discharged on December 15 from the hospital after intensive care unit (ICU) was set up in the Governor House. –Samaa
