ISLAMABAD: In the wake of security concerns, the federal government has issued an advisory regarding tagging and uploading of pictures on the social media.

“It has come to notice that a lot of people visiting or living at sensitive areas tend to tag their location and upload pictures on social media or Google maps. This creates a serious security concerned as it can expose sensitive locations on internet,” said an advisory issued by National Telecom & IT Security Board.

The government has advised people to avoid marking sensitive areas on maps, urging them to turn off Wifi, mobile internet and GPS while visiting a sensitive location.

The users have been directed to report any malicious activity to these two email addresses: eagle1978@gmail.com , falcon098@writeme.com

Servers of both the email addresses are hosted in US and Germany, Samaa reported.
