Can Fayaz Chohan’s resignation heal those wounded by his words?

March 5, 2019

Amber Shamsi, the host of SAMAA TV’s programme Sawaal, explores the controversial Fayazul Hasan Chohan’s conduct over the last few months.

She shows various clips of his bold remarks in the media, including the derogatory remarks he made a day earlier against the Hindu community living in Pakistan. The former Punjab information minister was asked to resign today.

“If you were following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, you might never have expressed such [derogatory] thinking towards minorities,” says Shamsi addressing Chohan.

PTI leaders Asad Umar, Naeemul Haque, Dr Shireen Mazari and other condemned Chohan’s remarks and behavior, she said, asking if Chohan’s resignation could heal the wounds of those groups that he has criticised in the past.
