Pak-India relations: Will there be peace or war?

February 28, 2019

The host of SAMAA TV’s programme, Sawaal, discusses the current situation between India and Pakistan.

She expresses shock that apart from OIC no international organisation has condemned Indian aggression towards Pakistan yet. She says that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, instead of condemning Indian aggression, termed Pakistan shooting down two Indian fighter jets as an act of counter-terrorism. She gives examples of similar reactions by China, the EU, Iran and others from the international community.

“This means that Pakistan needs to adopt a strategy of aggressive diplomacy to explain to the world that the perception that Pakistan harbours terrorists is wrong,” she said, adding that Pakistan needs to show the world that this conflict is an election stunt by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

She further discusses the statements made to the public by Prime Minister Imran Khan and ISPR DG Asif Ghafoor. She asks if tensions between the two countries will escalate further or if peace will prevail.
