PTI chief demands mass resignations including that of Kulsoom Nawaz who was visited by husband Nawaz Sharif in a London hospital

ISLAMABAD: After demanding Intelligence Bureau chief’s resignation over his meeting with former PM Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday demanded resignation from recently elected Member of National Assembly Kulsoom Nawaz for the very same reason.

Addressing a press conference outside parliament, The PTI chief demanded resignation from not only Kulsoom Nawaz but each and every individual who received Nawaz Sharif in a London hospital with a smile and those who welcomed the former PM on his return to the country on September 25, Monday.

About Kulsoom Nawaz, Imran Khan said that the MNA must resign for she met a disqualified PM in London and he has proof that not only she met him but Nawaz Sharif too visited her in a London hospital.

“She should also explain as to what was discussed in the meeting between her and Nawaz Sharif for she is a member of parliament,” said Imran Khan.

As for proof, Imran Khan showed media a picture tweeted by former PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif who met Kulsoom Nawaz along with Nawaz Sharif in a London hospital.

“Everyone, whether you are a doctor, a nurse or a peon, if you welcomed him there (in London) you should resign. And those of you who welcomed him on his return to the country should also resign from your respective posts. Just resign, even if you are jobless or self-reliant, all you need is to post a symbolic resignation letter on your social media account for welcoming a disqualified PM,” said Imran Khan while demanding mass resignations.

‘Joyful task’

Defending Imran Khan’s demand, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry-who made a record by attending 13 talk shows ‘live’ at the same time in the evening- said that the Imran Khan’s demand is very much in line with the law PTI passed through a Twitter poll.

“To resign from one’s post or position is a joyful task and one must do it again and again. Just look at me and Firdous Ashiq Awan, we resigned from at least two parties in years of our political career and may very soon resign from PTI too, so it’s no big deal, one must not shy away from resigning and should do it frequently to overcome the stigma attached to it,” said Chaudhry.

It is pertinent to note here that PTI chief Imran Khan on Tuesday sought resignation from the Director General (DG) Intelligence Bureau (IB) for allegedly visiting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London.

“The IB head must resign immediately. What was he doing while visiting a disqualified PM in London over four days at the tax-payers expense?” Imran Khan said in a series of tweets against the IB chief and former prime minister.

“IB head is an official of the state paid by taxpayers. His duty is to the state not to the Sharif family,” said the PTI chief.
