Rajhdhani delights located in Clifton block 7, Marine Pride, Khayaban-e-Iqbal, has spread its aroma around the city with their authentic Rajistani delicacies.
Although there were various places in Karachi that served thalis but they mostly killed the purpose of it.
Rajhdhani has legit Indian/Gurati cuisine with the concept of unlimited refills of 6 vegetarian and 1 chicken dish served with fresh salad, achar, chutney, homemade chapatti, puri and steamed rice. It’s the perfect place to satiate your cravings for an exclusive Indian thali.
Their chefs prepare vegetarian dishes with the fusion of such distinct flavours that you have never tasted before. It’s not easy to tell if the dish is vegetarian or non-vegetarian based, just like their Shakhahari dum qeema that has a texture and taste of minced meat but it’s actually prepared with smoked paneer.
Every visit to this place has been an incredible one, starting from the way their servers pamper the customers by washing their hands in a basin with Luke warm rose water, followed by their extremely refreshing welcome drink ‘Masala Chass’ (Namkeen lassi) and mouth-watering starters Rawa Dhokra (Gujrati bread), Popadum (papar) and accompaniments.
Rajhdhani has a set menu that keeps rotating on daily basis. Since i visited the restaurant on Thusrday the items on the menu were Jaselmeri Chaat (starter), Shakahari dum qeema, smoked aloo gobi, bhindhi do piyaza, Chawli Masala, daal darbari, Gujrati karhi and Bhunna chicken. After the main course there was sooji ka halwa for dessert. By the way Rajhdhani’s desserts, especially their halwas and masala chai are to die for.
I always visit this place with a huge appetite to enjoy all the dishes on my thali. Gujrati karhi is the highlight of the thali for most of the people who love to sip it like a light karhi or soup but I prefer replacing Gujrati karhi with my all-time favourite daal darbari. Gujrati karhi has an acquired taste that only those people will enjoy who like soya leaves (dill). However both gujrati karhi and daal darbari and the 2 main items that are always there on their menu.
The masala chai is rich in aroma and taste of cinnamon and clove which adds the heat to the tea and helps digest the food faster.
Honestly those people who think sabzi’s are boring will have their perceptions completely changed after visiting this place. You would actually look forward to visit Rajhdhani delights and try out their varieties of vegetarian dishes.
For all those weight conscious people, Rajhdhani’s thali consists of a complete meal plan with controlled portions of clean homemade food. So the good news is that you won’t feel left out if you go out for thali with your friends and family.
The location and exterior of the restaurant is quite deceiving for those who’ll visit the place for the first time. Please don’t get bothered by the restaurant’s unappealing exterior, otherwise you’ll miss out the experience of enjoying the finest Rajistani thali in town.
If you’re craving for an authentic thali with a range of vegetarian dishes in a homelike environment then you must visit this place at least once. The good thing is that their thali is half the price at lunch time (600 per head), which gives you all the more reason to have an amazing lunch with your colleagues and family.
