The Pathans do not seem to be earning much bucks from Peshawari Chappals. They are a definite pick for both men and women and it surely gives a suave and traditional look to our outfits.
Moving back in time to from where these notorious slipperettes originated from. Well! they were actually brought into sheer limelight when our very own IMRAN KHAN started sporting them every now and then. He made it look all so in fashion by sporting the slipperettes even below jeans, it sure captured the attention of many. So we can incorporate from this that Imran Khan laid the first brick for turning the chappals into an on going trend.
Here’s what is gripping is the fact that Imran Khan has these sandals specially custom- made from a very specific shop whose owner Chacha Nooruddin has earned a name for himself due to this reason. His Peshawari Chappals are now a big deal for the locals as big names as Imran Khan and even Reham Khan has their these slippers customized from his outlet in Peshawar. While my trip to Peshawar i was strolling around and we came across the fame of Chacha Nooruddin’s shop which made us curious and decided to visit his shop, we now really were triggered by all those rumors we have been coming across so we reached the shop in no time and I immediately noticed the picture of Imran Khan in his shop, maybe he himself must be an admirer of the cricketer turned politician. The shop looked peculiar and embellished with all those catchy slipperettes which we ourselves could not resist looking at. The cost of each pair was high nearly 6500 though the reason we comprehended ourselves but still one would say it’s way too pricey for a pair of slipperettes.
We made sure that we also put our hands into trying on the these slipperettes. While running into a conversation with the proud owner of the shop Chacha Nooruddin, I could not help questioning his claim to fame, he boastingly replied to our question and also told us that not just the politician but Reham Khan had ordered a pair of these well-made slipperettes for not just herself but her friend as well and that both the pair are still awaiting to be honored by the once British Pakistani Journalist. So maybe this could be reasons enough to be extracted for the road to fame for Chacha Nooruddin.
It’s strange how one is blessed with success so unexpectedly as in the case of Chacha Nooruddin. I even ran into many locals gathering opinions about Chacha Nooruddin and his expertise in sewing Peshawari sandals. They all somewhat gave a similar reaction to the questions gushing excitedly over these sandals and showing appreciation to Mr Nooruddin’s shop.
Earlier, the Peshawari chappal becomes the center of Global style face off regarding when Paul Smith made a comparable shoe a year ago, calling it the “Robert” and offering it for $500 instead of the neighborhood ones, which cost around $15.
Though! These Peshawari slippers are not just personal favorite in Peshawar but in other parts of the country as well. They are trendy, traditional and at the same time easy to pair with any kind of outfit. So here is a little hail of appreciation for these trend setters.
