Special Adviser to the PM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is a competent administrator.
“Usman Buzdar is not an actor who will advertise his work. He is a well-performing and competent administrator,” said Dr Awan on SAMAA TV’s show News Beat.
She praised Buzdar, saying that he doesn’t call media channels for extra coverage of himself and for image-building.
“He has been elected as a chief minister because the people of Punjab have placed their trust in PTI and on him,” added Awan.
She concluded that his progress should not be compared to that of the previous CMs. “It is not fair to compare the last five years mandate to a nine-month-old mandate,” she said.
Her comments about Buzdar come a day after PM Imran Khan’s speech at a rally in Orakzai where he said, “A good captain thinks about winning the match. He has to keep an eye on his team.” He had said he will change the ministers who are not working for the country’s benefit and bring in those who will.
“Mahmood Khan, you should also keep an eye on your team,” he said while referring to the KP chief minister.
Dr Awan officially took charge of her position a day earlier after former information minister Fawad Chaudhry was shifted to the ministry of science and technology in a major cabinet reshuffle.
