Pakistan Muslim League-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and her mother Tahira Aurangzeb tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

After their test results came out, the mother-daughter duo quarantined themselves at home.

Earlier this week, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and PML-N member Tariq Fazal also tested positive for the virus and quarantined themselves at their homes.

PML-N chairperson Shehbaz Sharif prayed for their speedy recovery. He said that the virus was increasing at an alarming rate in the country.

On the other hand, PTI National Assembly member Syed Faizul Hassan also contracted the virus. He had attended the recent assembly session.

Following the growing number of COVID-19 cases, Sindh Health Minister Azra Pechuho wrote to Sindh Assembly speaker over not letting members above the age of 55 attend the session.

Pakistan has reported a total of 108,317 cases and 2,172 deaths so far.
